Pointless Hunting

My mom keeps getting on my case to find a job. I've been applying everywhere I can submit a paper application or waste half an hour filling one out online. But hey, who wants to hire a girl with zero work experience with the exception of putting flyers on people's doors?Or a girl who has a license but no car? I could still get rides and show up on time but noooooooo, no one wants to take that risk....which, I can understand. But darn it- I've been looking for work since I started college a year and a half ago and no one wants to hire me. All my friends have jobs and my mom and I are barely scraping by. I know less motivated people that have jobs for Pete's sake! I just feel like I'm failing at life. One of they successes to life is getting a job and I'm not good enough apperently- even during the frickin' holidays when department stores need as much help as they can get. Oh wellif I die anytime soon then I don't have to worry about getting a job anymore at least.

Argh. It's just hard to get a job. Keep at it. No one really wants to hire collagee students because of the school hours conflicting with work hours. It's always darkest before the dawn, don't give up yet.

Here's the deal.

When/If they ask about transportation lie and say "I have a reliable source of transportation". Lying is all the rage these days, and how people secure jobs. They want to hear you say in a professional manner, even if it's not true "I will be here come hell or high water". People who are truthful and say "I'm dependant on other people for rides" translates to most business owners or managers as "I'm coming up with an excuse now for when I don't feel like coming in, so you can't say I didn't warn you." which isn't always true, but how it is interrupted 99% of the time.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, everyone tells me I should just lie but I either feel bad about it or I fear I will be called on it later. But, I did have an interview today and that went over very well. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope i get a job for Christmas- or sooner since that would be better.
